I've been using just about every Pharmacy in Letchworth over the years, everyone has had issues, mainly with my prescriptions not being made in time and having to wait for hours to collect them.


No issues with Letchworth Pharmacy after being with them for a year. Everytime I order though the app then walk in a few days later and its ready. The staff are so friendly and helpful aswell. A breath of fresh air.

      Is this an NHS service?

          No, the service is private; there is a fee for the consultation (£20) plus a charge for any medicines* we supply (*cost will depend on what the medicine is)


          and  It's a super-convenient way to access expert private healthcare quickly and when it suits you. 


          Being seen quicker means you feel better sooner and are less inconvenienced with time off.


          Please note: We offer the NHS-funded Pharmacy First service for a select range of common ailments.

      How much does the service cost

          The Pharmacist prescribing service provides access to expert health care and prescription medication for a range of conditions quickly (usually same-day) without the need to see a GP. The NHS does not fund it, and is a private service. 


          There is a fee for the consultation with the prescribing pharmacist of £20, plus a charge for any medicine we supply. 


          The cost of the medicine will depend on what is prescribed item. If no medication is prescribed, then you would only pay the consultation fee.

      What illnesses can you help with?

          We can help with most conditions you would see your GP for. If you need more specialist advice, we will refer you.

      Where will my consultation take place?

          We can provide support and advice over the phone, but if you would like to pop-in or we advise that you do, our pharmacies have a quiet area for personal and confidential consultations for patient and pharmacist discussions.

      How soon will I be seen?

          Unlike a visit to the GP, we can offer you a consultation on the same day. There may be a slight wait if the pharmacist is with other patients. Pop into the pharmacy or book ahead online

      How do I access the service?

          Simply pop into the pharmacy to be seen or book ahead online if you prefer.  There may be a small wait if the pharmacist is with another patient but we aim to see you the same day

      How does a prescribing pharmacist differ to other pharmacists?

          Prescribing pharmacists undergo advanced training that provides additional qualification to their Pharmacy degree; this means they can prescribe medicines your GP would prescribe for conditions within their competence.
